Abstract

ABSTRACT

This study aims to explore in depth how person–job fit is reflected in the performance of housekeeping employees at Gets Premiere Hotel Semarang as an effort to maximize service quality for guests. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design, where data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using the Manual Data Analysis Procedure (MDAP) with the application of triangulation and member checking to ensure the credibility  of the findings. The results indicate that person–job fit in housekeeping work is manifested through role synchronization, which includes organizational alignment, interpersonal warmth, repetitive work patterns, service ethos, and professional service dedication. These findings highlight that although housekeeping tasks are inherently repetitive, employees are able to adapt, maintain service standards, and foster positive social interactions. Thus, person–job fit emerges as a crucial element in supporting the sustainability of housekeeping services in a consistent and professional manner, while directly contributing to the hotel’s image and guest satisfaction.
