Abstract

This research was conducted to examine the influence of competence and motivation on employee performance at he Public Broadcasting Institution RRI Palembang using a quantitative method. The sampling technique used is saturated sampling, making all 86 employees the sample. This study uses a questionnaire with a measurement scale instrument using a Likert scale. The analysis results indicate that both partially and simultanesously, competence and motivation have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. Howevwe, among the two, motivation has a greater influence on employee performance. The R2 value or coefficient of determination of 47,5% indicates that nearly half of the variation in employee performance can be explained by the factors of competence and motivation.
