Abstract

This study examines the adoption of digital e-wallet payments, with the intention of serving as intervening variable that bridges the relationships among financial literacy, subjective norms, and perceived behavioral control. The research methods used was quantitative, with 221 users of e-wallet applications, by utilizing purposive and snowball sampling methods, the study conducted a data analysis via SMART-PLS, which revealed that these constructs exert a significant influence. The results found that financial literacy and perceived behavioral control have a significant affect intention, while subjective norms do not show a significant influence. Results from the indirect effect analysis demonstrate that intention functions as a mediator, linking financial literacy and perceived behavioral control to e-wallet usage behavior. Conversely, intention does not mediate the relationship between subjective norms and digital e-wallet payment behavior. These findings suggest that intention acts as a bridge between financial literacy and perceived behavioral control, ultimately driving the adoption of e-wallets among the student population.
